Our Story

At Cohuna Vet Clinic, we believe that caring for animals is about more than just medicine—it's about being a trusted partner in your animal's health journey and an active part of the community.

Our clinic was founded in 2025 by two passionate and experienced veterinarians - Carly Brownlow, who has a deep connection to Cohuna and a lifelong dream of practice ownership, along with Adrian Coghill who has previously worked in the area and has embraced the opportunity to take this service forward into the future.

Carly's Story

Carly grew up on the Central Coast, NSW and graduated from CSU Wagga Wagga in 2018. Carly’s journey to becoming a vet began with a childhood love for animals and passion for showing beef cattle in high school. It was during her time working at Border Veterinary Clinic in Cohuna that she truly found her calling. She fell in love with the town, its people, and the sense of community that made it a special place to live and work. After moving to Rochester for more large animal experience, Carly’s dream of returning to Cohuna and owning a practice took shape.

Adrian’s Story

Adrian hails from central Gippsland and graduated as a veterinarian in 2001 from the University of Melbourne. He has worked in mixed practice all over Victoria, Tasmania, the Bega Vally, New Zealand and UK. Having previously worked for Paul and Karen and seeing the potential in the area, he made the decision with Carly Brownlow to take Cohuna Veterinary Clinic forward into the future and become part of the local community.

Adrian's interests include all aspects of veterinary medicine. He holds additional qualifications and accreditations including:

  • Australian Cattle Veterinarians Accredited Pregnancy Tester (PregCheck)

  • Australian Cattle Veterinarians Accredited Bull Tester (BullCheck)

  • Memberships in Dairy Cattle Medicine

  • Racing NSW Accreditation

With a renewed sense of purpose, this dedicated duo are committed to providing modern, affordable veterinary care to all animals, whether they are pets, livestock, or equine companions.

Carmen

Carmen is our most senior vet nurse with over 20 years’ experience in Echuca, Rochester and now with us. She oversees all aspects of our clinic, from reception to ordering to training students to developing our clinic protocols and guiding all of our younger nurses. We would be lost without her.

She has both her Cert IV and Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.

Carmen keeps herself very busy with 4 daughters, 2 dogs (Reggie and Raffy), a couple of horses and a large number of poddy lambs.

Bailie

Bailie completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in early 2026 and is loving all aspects of veterinary nursing. She is our equipment cleaning and maintenance guru who is always eager to experience new things. Her enthusiastic, bubbly personality is infectious!

She grew up in Singleton but is a country girl at heart.  Before joining us she was rousabouting and working on an emu farm.

Bailie has a Kelpie named Xena and a Greyhound/Boxer cross named Zeus.

Sam

Sam grew up in Ballarat but has been in Kerang for a few years now.

She completed her Cert II in Animal Studies while working in a vet clinic several years ago and is currently studying her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. Sam excels at surgical nursing and caring for our hospital patients.

She has quite the variety of dogs with Bella the Kelpie, Moose the German Shepherd and Odie the Dachshund.

Sarah

Whilst she did not grow up here, Sarah has now cemented herself as a Cohuna local.

She has almost completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and has been vet nursing for just over 5 years.  Sarah does an amazing job running our puppy school and overseeing our social media accounts.

She has Hollie the GSP, Luna the Kelpie and a gorgeous toddler Amelia, who you might often see helping mum at the front desk.

Emily

Em is a local girl and has been vet nursing at this clinic for just over 3 years.

Em’s main employment is as an education support officer at a local school but we love having her work with us on a casual basis.

Em has two gorgeous cavoodles Ziggy and Florence and loves playing netball.
